Hereafter Ghana Registers 4,304 children onto NHIS with support from Yensomubi Crowdfunding Platform, Other Donors
With support from the Yensomu Bi crowdfunding platform (www.yensomubi.org), Hereafter Ghana, an NGO based in the northern region has been successful in registering 4, 304 children onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
This registration exercise constitutes the last batch of activity for Hereafter Ghana under its “One Child, One Health Insurance Card Project” for the year 2023.
The project which aims to provide health insurance to less privileged children in rural communities successfully wrapped up in August with a focus on communities under the Kumbungu District in the Northern Region of Ghana. On 14th August 2023, Hereafter Ghana reached out to local children in the Voggu and Voggu Kushibo communities, registering 153 and 120 children onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), ensuring that these underprivileged children have access to essential healthcare.
In addition, the latest batch of the NHIS registration was carried out on 22nd August 2023 in three different communities, including Kpalisogu, where 143 children received their health insurance cards. Voggu Nyarizegu saw 61 children registered, and Voggu Botingli welcomed 27 more into the NHIS program.
In total, an impressive 4,304 children have been registered since the inception of the project, ensuring they have the vital healthcare coverage they need.
The success of this initiative would not have been possible without the efforts of donors on the Yensomu Bi platform, donors of Hereafter Ghana, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to this noble cause.
Hereafter Ghana also extends a special appreciation to management and staff of the Northern Regional NHIS Secretariat for their generosity in donating 1,000 free health insurance cards to rural and needy children.
The “One Child, One Health Insurance Card Project” is a shining example of how communities and dedicated individuals can come together to make a positive difference in the lives of those who need it the most.
Hereafter Ghana anticipates more children receiving health insurance cards and gaining access to free basic healthcare services nationwide in the coming year. They look forward to continuous collaboration with Penplusbytes under its Yensomu Bi project to advance its mission next year, bringing essential healthcare services to more children in underserved areas.
