Every year, rabies-a preventable disease continues to threaten families, children, and animals across many communities in Ghana-a part of the world where rabies does not receive the attention and awareness it urgently needs, yet continues to cause unnecessary suffering and loss.
That is why The Animal Aider Project (TAAP) is on a mission to help reduce and ultimately eliminate rabies in Ghana through vaccination, education, and community outreach.
Over the past four years, TAAP has vaccinated 1,000 animals against rabies and educated 3,204 people on rabies prevention and responsible animal care. This July, we will be returning to Nsawam, Ghana, for our 8th Veterinary Outreach programme (VetReach Nsawam) where over the past three years, about 30 confirmed rabies cases have been identified in dogs, presented for routine check-up due to behavioural changes, with many more dog bite incidents reported. Behind every case is a family at risk and an animal that could have been protected through vaccination.
Funds raised will help purchase life-saving rabies vaccines, essential medical and veterinary supplies and support community education.
Every donation, no matter the amount, helps protect both animal and human lives.
Thank you
