Teenage pregnancy (TP) is a major public health challenge in Ghana, with about 100,000 births annually. The Ashanti Region, with a TP rate of 24% compared to the national average of 15%, is severely affected. Factors such as inadequate reproductive health education (RHE), limited access to contraceptives, and socio-cultural norms restrict open discussions about sexual health. High TP rates lead to increased school dropouts, health risks for young mothers and infants, and cycles of poverty. Despite government efforts, TP rates have risen from 14% in 2014 to 15% in 2022, indicating the need for more effective strategies. Support Development Advocacy Initiative -Africa (DAI-Africa) to reach 1,000 adolescent girls by December 2024, in three high Teenage Pregnancy (TP) prevalence communities in the Ashanti Region through an aspiration-driven and adolescent-led participatory approach to reproductive health education and services."
