Rural Education and Development Programme LBG (REDEP), is a volunteer-led non-governmental organisation based in Ajumako Enyan Essiam District in the Central Region of Ghana . We are raising funds to support WASH project at Enyan Budukwaa and Etsii Anomabokuma in Ajumako Enyan Essiam District in Central Region of Ghana
• Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) intervention to restore functionality to broken boreholes pumps at the aforementioned rural communities.
The project involves replacements of faulty borehole pumps; community sensitization and hygiene education among rural folks; creation and training of the Water Sanitation Management Team (WSMT) to ensure good maintenance of the boreholes. In addition the communities are to be educated on the need to own and maintain the projects. Water is a basic right and to save water is a human responsibility. Despite water being a very important need, not everyone has access to it. The issues found at the root of a shortage of water come not always from non- availability of resources but rather from the differences in its distribution. Providing a stable water supply is at the core to ensure good living conditions as well as the framework for successful economic and agricultural development.
