Back to School Initiative: Giving Every Child a Chance to Learn
All children should have the chance to learn, dream and make a better future. Sadly, for some poor children in Ghana, poverty is one of the main obstacles preventing them from accessing quality education. There are many children who skip classes or fail to attend school due to lack of school fees, uniforms, books, schoolbags, shoes and other important educational tools needed.
Reproductive Advocate Health Education Ghana (RAHE Ghana) is a registered NGO committed to helping the vulnerable people in Ghana improve their lives by educating them and developing healthy communities. In over ten years of our work with schools, communities and other organizations, we have helped to promote equality of education opportunities for the children and to give them hope.
By means of our Back to School Initiative: Giving Every Child a Chance to Learn, we intend to help 125 children who belong to a category of vulnerable children in terms of gender, income level, being orphans, having disabilities, being at high risk of dropping out of school.
The money collected via this fundraising will go towards:
Payments for school fees and bursaries.
Supply of school uniforms and shoes.
Provision of school bags and study materials.
Provision of exercise books, textbooks, pens, pencils, and mathematical sets.
Provision of hygienic materials to girls in cases of necessity.
Follow-ups in order to ensure that children complete the entire academic year.
Education is one of the most effective means to break the cycle of poverty. As long as a child stays at school, they gain sufficient knowledge, skills, and confidence to bring about positive changes not only in their lives but also in those of their families and communities.
